West Palm Beach, July 6, 2021 – Intech is pleased to join the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative, reinforcing our commitment to our clients’ de-carbonization goals. Consistent with our fiduciary duty, Intech joins a group of 128 international asset managers, representing US$43 trillion of assets under management, in a commitment to:

  • Support the goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050 or sooner across all assets under management, in line with the Paris Agreement goal to limit warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
  • Set an interim target for the proportion of assets to be managed in line with the attainment of net-zero emissions by 2050 or sooner.
  • Review our interim target at least every five years to ratchet up the proportion of AUM covered to 100%.

“Climate change is a risk we all face – our clients, employees, and communities,” said Adrian Banner, CEO and CIO of Intech. “Addressing it will require a global collective effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Intech is pleased to join our industry peers to support the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative, which seeks to achieve zero emissions by 2050 or sooner. Together, we hope to create a more sustainable future for generations to come.”

Joining the initiative comes as Intech accelerates its drive toward sustainable investing with deeds, not words. A UN PRI signatory since 2012, Intech manages over US$14 billion in ESG-tilt portfolios as of March 31, 2021 – over a third of assets under management – for clients worldwide. Today’s announcement represents a further development in Intech’s effort to strengthen corporate engagement and stewardship, and advocate climate and environmental policy.

As we progress toward a lower-carbon economy, Intech is pleased to partner with peers and clients who have made this commitment and are interested in taking action to combat climate change.
