Cooperating with organizations to advance sustainable development is a pillar of Intech’s holistic sustainability approach. Partnering within the asset management community and across industries is critical because no single organization can independently solve any of these problems. We believe collaboration may be the most important factor in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Stronger Together
Sustainable Development Goal 17 is to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development. Achieving the other 16 goals is nearly impossible without SDG 17 because all of the goals are interconnected, which requires cross-industry and international cooperation to achieve systematic change. Therefore, to achieve the ambitious goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, transformative partnerships among government, business, and civil society are more important than ever.
Memberships
Consistent with SDG 17, Intech identifies opportunities for collaboration with peers, clients, suppliers, academia, and non-profit groups to target other SDGs, scale our efforts, and share responsibilities.
The most essential of these memberships is the Principles for Responsible Investing (PRI). Intech signed the internationally-recognized Principles in 2012, and we actively promote acceptance and implementation of the Principles in the industry. Indeed, they guide our decisions in forging relationships with other sustainability organizations.
In supporting the other sustainability organizations, Intech not only seeks to follow each organization’s vision and standards, but we also help shape industry best practices aligned with the PRI: ESG integration, corporate engagement, investor disclosures and policy advocacy.
